Journey Fitness ("we," "us," or "the app") is a gamified fitness tracking application owned and operated by Kaysen Allred as an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
The short version: We collect the minimum data needed to run the app — your account info, workout activity, and the content you choose to share. We don't sell your data. We don't show you ads. You can delete your account any time from the app.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to anyone who creates an account or uses Journey Fitness, whether through our website (journeyfitness.fit), our Progressive Web App installed to a device, or our mobile apps on iOS and Android.
2. Age Requirement
Journey Fitness is intended for users 13 years of age or older. If you are under 13, please do not create an account or provide any personal information. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.
3. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
Account info: your chosen username, password (stored only as a one-way hash — we never see the plain text), and optionally your email address if you choose to add one for password reset.
Profile info: first name and optional last name, and whether you chose "real name" or "fake name" mode during signup.
Onboarding quiz answers: fitness goals, activity preferences, food preferences, and schedule preferences that you enter during the signup quiz.
Content you create: community posts, shoutouts, duel messages, custom workout names, and any text or image content you upload.
Referral codes: if you sign up using a friend's referral code, we record who referred you.
Information generated by your use of the app
Activity data: workouts you mark as completed, streak counts, coin balances, items you collect, pets you own, achievements earned, tournament participation, clan membership, friend connections, and duel history.
Usage patterns: which days you logged in, what times workouts were completed (recorded on the device).
Information collected automatically
Basic technical info required for the app to function: browser type, device type (for responsive layout), and cached data stored locally on your device through your browser's service worker.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or cross-site tracking of any kind.
4. How We Use Your Information
To create and maintain your account and let you log in.
To personalize your experience (meal plans, workouts, recommendations) based on your quiz answers.
To show your activity to other users in ways you choose — leaderboards, clan rankings, community posts, duels, friend lists.
To let you reset your password if you provided an email.
To enforce our Terms of Service, investigate abuse, and keep the community safe.
To communicate with you about the app (only if you contact us first or use the password reset flow — we do not send marketing emails).
5. How Your Information Is Shared
With other users
Your username, profile display choices, workout counts, streaks, achievements, clan membership, and content you post are visible to other users within the app. You control what you post. Your email address, password hash, referral details, and quiz answers are never visible to other users.
With service providers
Supabase (supabase.com) hosts our database and authentication system. Your account data is stored on Supabase's servers. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy commitments.
Netlify (netlify.com) hosts the web version of the app and serves our content.
Apple and Google distribute the mobile versions of the app through their stores and may collect information as described in their own policies.
For legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Journey Fitness, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Access: You can see most of your account data directly in the app (profile, workouts, inventory, friends, posts, etc.). If you want a full export, email us at the contact address below.
Correction: You can edit your profile, name, and most account settings directly in the app.
Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data any time by tapping Delete Account at the bottom of your Home screen. This action is permanent.
Objection and restriction: If you are in the EU, UK, or a region with equivalent privacy rights, you have additional rights including the right to object to or restrict processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
California residents: You have the right under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our active database. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 days before being fully purged. Some minimal information may be retained if required by law or to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
8. Security
We protect your information using:
HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers.
One-way cryptographic hashing of passwords using SHA-256 with a salt — we never store or see your plain-text password.
Row-level security policies in our database so users can only access data appropriate to them.
Standard security practices from our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Netlify).
No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
9. International Users
Journey Fitness is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the app, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data receives protections equivalent to those in your home jurisdiction.
10. Third-Party Links
The app may contain links to external websites (such as referral share URLs opened through your device's share sheet). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users through an in-app update log before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
